FIRE UPDATE 7:15AM SAT 19/10 - Lithgow Rural Fire Service advises todays plan of attack for the local area. RFS is hoping to consolidate containment lines in the Marrangaroo area, on the Newnes Plateau, and in Hartley Vale area, specifically Doctors Gap. The RFS will attempt to put in back burns in and around Mt Wilson through to Bell. Todays effort will be with the assistance of around 40 tankers from the Victorian CFA, as well as the Remote Area Fire Fighting Teams, and A.C.T fire fighters. The majority of the local volunteers are to be stood down and given a well earned break today. If conditions are conducive, aerial water bombing will once again take place during the day.
