FIRST BITCOIN ATM LAUNCHES ON LAS VEGAS STRIP Coin Cloud announced the opening of Bitcoin Bodega, the Las Vegas Strip’s first bitcoin ATM, located inside the Viva Vegas souvenir shop at 3735 Las Vegas Blvd., S., just south of Harmon Ave., across the street from City Center. It is open 7 days a week, 8 a.m. to midnight. The opening highlights a recent trend in bitcoin tourism, providing digital currency enthusiasts with a quick, easy and safe means to buy or sell bitcoin, and avoid carrying cash on planes or dealing with bank limitations and holidays. Tourists can now store money digitally and withdraw cash from the Bitcoin Bodega when they arrive. The kiosk is centrally located within walking distance of nearby casinos. It has convenient drive-up parking available and a security guard is on site at all times.. Coin Cloud, is owned by Chris McAlary, a bitcoin trader and former bitcoin miner. His company will operate the RoboCoin-manufactured ATM. Las Vegas-based RoboCoin’s ATM machines offer a combination of patent pending hardware, software and reporting tools, along with security features such as phone number, PIN number and palm-vein validation to secure against theft and fraud. All information is encrypted when collected, transmitted and stored. It is never shared with third parties and never stored on the machines. the D Las Vegas, downtown also had a bitcoin ATM.
