FISH FURTHER FOR CHRIST Acts 18:22 - 28 & 19:1 - 7 OVERVIEW The life of highly educated Apostle Paul, reveals how influential born again Christians should mature and win souls for Christ. See how Paul revisited his converts/disciples in various cities, to strengthen them Vs 22 & 23. His tour reveals another influential but converted Apollos who knew/taught the scriptures and was making great impact Vs 24 & 25. Apollos humility to learn Christ circumcision (baptism) rather than John’s from a Christian couple was commended Vs 26. As he crossed to Corinth to win more souls, Apostle Paul also stormed Ephesus with the baptism of the Holy Ghost on the Christians who knew only John’s baptism Acts 19:2 - 6. Have you won a soul for Christ with all the opportunities within your reach? If not you better go A-fishing for Christ in your vocation/environment. If yes have you revisited to find out their state, strengthen them and win other souls? Today, Christians/elders kill themselves to remain local champions instead of harnessing their Christ potentials or those of others. It is equally not wrong to be properly guided by well fed younger ministers/elders even when you are a guru in church administration, teaching or preaching the gospel with boldness Vs 16. You need the Holy Spirit baptism as a seal, different from water (John) baptism which is unto repentance and a member of Christ’s family. TONIC POINT (1) Not only winning souls revisit and strengthen them Vs 22 & 23. (2) Do not feel inferior; learn more to have the Holy Ghost Vs 24 - 29. (3) Mature your converts with the Holy Ghost Acts 19:1 - 7. FOCUS OF THE DAY Water baptism is to repentance and Holy Ghost baptism is the power of God.
