FIVE ARTISTS from Denbighshire are on the move for their Open Studios exhibition this September. Ysgubor Artists, who have been at Pandy’r Capel for the past two years, are moving to Eisteddfa, near Graigfechan, Llanfair DC, outside Ruthin, LL15 2ES. Each weekend from September 7, Ysgubor Artists will be showing their work and demonstrating their techniques at Eisteddfa, the home of member Carys Dawson. Another member, Gail Cooper, said: “We are delighted that Carys has kindly allowed us to set up a workshop and gallery in her barn at Eisteddfa, on the B5429, for Helfa Gelf/Open Studios. It is a beautiful location with wonderful views. “We have been busy preparing the barn, exchanging artists’ brushes for decorators’ rollers to create a large light space. “We hope that visitors who enjoyed our work before will come and find us, and look forward to welcoming new visitors as well.” Ysgubor Artists consists of five members of the Clwydian Art Society: Gail Cooper, Carys Dawson, Sheila Stirrup, Tina Edwards and Sheila Drury. They all paint in a variety of media and styles, often drawing inspiration from the North Wales landscape and coastline. Gail Cooper added: “Our work is so varied that there is something for every art lover to enjoy and talk about.” The studio at Eisteddfa will be open on Saturday and Sunday each weekend from 11am to 5pm. Please note that on Sunday September 8 the road outside Eisteddfa is closed in the morning for a cycle race, and the studio will have to open late at 12.30pm. There will be paintings to buy, as well as cards and smaller works, and the event is free to all. Visitors can watch the artists at work, and ask questions about what they do. Ysgubor Artists can be contacted on 01824 750237 or 01824 702997 For further information, go to helfagelf.co.uk and type in Ysgubor Artists.
