The flash flood watch is in effect for * Portions of east central colorado...Northwest kansas and southwest nebraska...Including the following areas...In east central colorado...Cheyenne co...Kit carson and yuma. In northwest kansas...Cheyenne ks and sherman. In southwest nebraska...Dundy. * From this evening through late tonight * Storm development this evening will be similar to last night...With an extensive area of rainfall developing over eastern colorado and moving east into far northwest kansas and southwest nebraska. Expect the storms to move at around 20 mph this evening over ground that had received 1 to 2 inches of rainfall last night. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are likely with locally higher amounts possible. The additional rainfall tonight may lead to flash flooding. A flash flood watch means that additional rainfall may result in flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to move quickly to higher ground should flash flooding occur.
