FLOOD ADVISORY FOR: Clark Lincoln The national weather service in las vegas has issued a * Flood advisory for rapid rises in normally dry washes in... Extreme south central lincoln county in south central nevada... North central clark county in southern nevada... * Until 630 am pdt * At 1231 am pdt radar showed a thunderstorm moving north near highway 93 that has produced well over an inch of rain in an hour near and southeast of coyote springs in the arrow canyon area. Runoff from this storm will drain into the upper muddy river which will eventually drain toward warm springs road on the west side of moapa. This will result in a few inches of water crossing low spots on roads as well as rapid flows in washes as well as in the upper muddy river. * Locations impacted include... Sr 168 mile marker 21 and coyote springs. Warm springs road west of moapa. Heavy rain will lead to flowing water in normally dry washes and ponding of water on roads. Low water crossings can be dangerous in heavy rain. Do not drive into flooded roads or low water crossings. Turn around...Dont drown! Report flooded roads to the las vegas national weather service via facebook or twitter. Heavy rain many miles upstream in the upper muddy river will cause flowing water in the wash which could go over low water crossings. The water may take hours to drain down from upstream rain areas.
