**FLOOD WARNINGS** have been issued for the Big Sioux River at Hawarden and Akron, the Ocheyedan River near Spencer, and the Little Sioux River at Spencer and Linn Grove. Minor to moderate flooding is expected to occur along the banks of each of these rivers as they crest over the course of this week. It has been quite the muggy and mild Monday across Siouxland so far this afternoon. Our evening right now will not look to provide much relief either. Temperatures will linger in the 70s and 80s well towards sunset and the humidity will linger with them. Once the sun sets clouds will settle over the region, helping to hold the overnight lows up in the above average range, likely settling in low to mid 60s. If you liked the weather today then Tuesday will really be up your alley as the hot and sticky weather continues for the second day of the work week. Partly cloudy skies will be the story with highs climbing close to 90° for the first time since mid May. As we progress into the late afternoon and evening tomorrow, chances for showers and thunderstorms will develop and increase overnight into Wednesday. Lows Tuesday night should only fall into the upper 60s. Wednesday holds more chances for thunderstorms and the slight risk for thunderstorms to become severe. At this time chances are very hit and miss but if a severe storm does develop, it would likely be in northern communities and could produce large hail as well as damaging winds. Highs on Wednesday again rocket into the 80s. The second half of the work week will continue the unsettled weather pattern with showers or thunderstorms likely Thursday night through early next week. The good news though is that temperatures will at least stay in the 80s.
