FLOOD WATCH FOR THE BELUBULA RIVER FOR SATURDAY Issued at 12:28 pm EDT on Friday 5 December 2014 ## Note: This Flood Watch is a heads up for possible future flooding along all rivers and creeks within a nominated valley and is NOT a Flood Warning [see note below]. Showers and thunderstorms are expected for the next few days with localised severe thunderstorms possible. There is a greater than 70% chance that minor to moderate flooding could develop along the Belubula River during Saturday. The threat of local flooding from thunderstorms in other areas of the state over the next few days will be covered by Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers and creeks must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding develop. Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau of Meteorology provides a flood warning service. Across NSW over 70% of Flood Watches are followed by flooding within the catchment. FloodSafe advice is available at ses.nsw.gov.au For emergency assistance call the SES on telephone number 132 500. For life threatening emergencies, call 000 immediately.
