FOCUS HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE PAKISTAN ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE VACANT POSITIONS Focus Humanitarian Assistance (FOCUS) is an international group of agencies established in Europe, North America and South Asia to complement the provision of emergency relief, principally in the developing world. It helps people in need to reduce their dependence on humanitarian aid and facilitates their transition to sustainable self-reliant, long-term development. FOCUS is affiliated with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). FOCUS Pakistan requires services of highly motivated professionals for following positions: Communication Officer, Training Officer (Based in Karachi), Executive Assistant (Based in Islamabad) 1. Communication Officer (1 position) Develop tools and mechanisms for internal and external communication. Develop comprehensive media relation strategy in close collaboration with Department of Communication (DoC), National Council for Pakistan. Establish a central archive center to pool all reports, publications and organizational materials Conduct regular market intelligence exercises. Handle all communication tasks internal and external to build bridge with organizations, partners, donors and stake holders. Planning and Execution of Communications (Policies, Publications, Promotional Materials etc.) Manage Seminars, Events and Conferences. Act as spokesman in case of crisis and represent FOCUS on different platforms. Specifications: The person should: Hold Masters Degree in Mass Communication, English Language or Marketing Minimum three years of relevant work experience. Experience working with an NGO will be an added advantage. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language. Demonstrated skills in writing articles, reports and press releases. Willingness to travel to the regional offices of FOCUS Pakistan. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize well and commitment to meet deadlines. Well versed with computer applications such as Adobe Photoshop, In-page etc. 2. Training Officer (1 position) The incumbent will be responsible to: Conduct Training Need Analysis (TNA) for training programs and coordinate with the program manager to develop comprehensive training programs. Design and deliver trainings, workshops and seminars, update/enrich curriculum, prepare lesson plan and teaching aids, for trainings. Liaise with key stakeholders particularly the local community for a greater achievement of organizational goals and objectives and coordinate with local institutions through proper communication. Assist Regional Program Officer in arranging meetings with community and other project related activities at regional level. Coordinate with other implementing partners particularly government line departments and share reflections regarding project activities in the region. Write periodical reports document and disseminate to line supervisors. Specifications: The person should have: Bachelors degree in Education or other Social Sciences subjects. Masters degree will be an added advantage, One to two years of relevant experience preferably of training/ teaching in communities, Good verbal and written communication skills with hands-on experience in curriculum design. Can travel across Regional Program Areas. Comfortable in using MS Office and/ or other presentation tools. 3. Executive Assistant (1 position) The incumbent will be responsible to: Arrange appointments, meetings and travel of EO. Draft letters, report, presentations and other documents. Handle incoming and outgoing mails and faxes and maintain proper record of it. Provide assistance to staff / management. Carry out filing and general administrative work. Attend meetings and take minutes. Assist the Administration department in activities such as organizing meetings and workshops. Specifications: The person should have: Bachelors degree, although Masters degree holder will have additional advantage. At least 3 years of secretarial experience is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol. Professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to type fast. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
