FOLLOW ME, AND LET THE DEAD BURY THEIR DEAD. (Mt 8:18-22) When Jesus saw a crowd around Him, He gave orders to cross to the other side. A scribe approached and said to Him, Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go. Jesus answered him, Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest His head. Another of His disciples said to Him, Lord, let me go first any bury my father. But Jesus answered him, Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead. For Jesus, a real Christian should be like Him, detached from all things and persons, to be able to love and care for everyone. Are you following Jesus life or not? We cannot truly follow Jesus if we have so many strings attached. We have to learn to let go of them all. It does not mean we care for them less but in following Jesus, we lift up everything to His care, protection and Divine Providence. And although many are called but not everyone are ready and willing to give up everything to answer the call of perfection. Yet if you will submit yourself and everything to Him and follow Him, you will be surprised and amazed of the abundant and overflowing graces and blessings God will provide in order to sustain us and to have more to be shared in doing our mission in this life. Jesus needs us in continuing His works for the salvation of souls and for Gods greater glory. In this life, even how comfortable and contented we are yet it seems deep within us is emptiness because we have not done what we are supposed to do, we have just put aside the mission we are tasks to do. But if we have done our part then even in our difficulties and pains, we have survive and surpassed them all and remain hopeful and trusting and worry-free because we are doing the will of God in this lifetime. If we want to commit ourselves to the work of Jesus, then we should not let anyone or anything stop us. For we are not just working for our own salvation but for the salvation of souls. We have to take part and be strong to resist temptation and sin and be decisive to follow Him without hesitation. And to follow Jesus is the shortest way of reaching our goal not only in this life but in the life to come.
