FOOD FOR THE CHARIOTS Monday 14th July, 2014 THEME: WHO DO YOU TRUST? SCRIPTURE REFERENCE: Jeremiah 17:1-8 ( Emphases on verses 5&6 ) 5 This is what the LORD says: Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. 6 He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. Many of us as christians have placed our hopes and trusts in men. Some of us, our hopes are in our Uncles, Aunties, Friends and relatives abroad for our success in life, education, business and even ministry. I know even some Men of God who put their faith for the financial stability of their family and the ministry on mortal men like them. They fights over rich men into their church with the believe that they would gain big tithes from them. According to our scripture reference, anybody who behave like this is under a curse. All these things are wrong. The Lord is the source of our blessings. Proverb 10:22 says its the blessing of the Lord that maketh man rich... man can received nothing unless it comes from abov - John 3:27 .Everything you received from people is given to you from God. God provided those things for you by using them. If you put your hope and trust in those people, you are being ungrateful to the God ans according to verse 6 of our opening scripture, anybody who trust another man is like this . 6 He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. What it means is that, the heaven doors would be closed to you and prosperity shall elude you forever. Beloved, are doors closed to you? Are you struggling to even get what others are getting easily? Then I suggest you check what you trust! See the rewards for trusting God, in the verses 7 and 8 of our opening scripture again declared this for the one who trusts in God - 7 .Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” Psalm 125:1 also says those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion. It cannot be shaken. It remains forever. When you trust completely in God, He showers blessings upon you and even courses your enemies to be kind to you. In this our season of hard economical difficulties, we must understand that our citizenship is in heaven and we have the right to receive from heaven but the only channel to do so is to be connected and trust in God. PRAYER POINTS 1. Thank God for a new day with great opportunities 2. Ask God for mercy and plead the blood over you. 3. Thank God for the message and pray for its expansion 4.
