FOOD FOR THE SOUL THE REWARD FOR HUMILITY In the Bible, truly - TopicsExpress

FOOD FOR THE SOUL THE REWARD FOR HUMILITY In the Bible, truly humble men wrote themselves off; spoke of themselves in terms that showed their low and dismal credentials but God still used them to great effect. Moses, the one who led the Israelites exodus from Egypt, that great prophet of God, the Most High, said to God when God called him I AM NOBODY. HOW can I go to the king and bring the Israelites out of Egypt? Further he said No, Lord, dont send me. I have never been a good speaker, and I havent become one since you began to speak to me. I am a poor speaker, slow and hesitant. Another great prophet, Jeremiah, to whom God said Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, responded to Gods invitation to the mission field thus: Sovereign Lord, I dont know how to speak; I am too young. Young indeed! And Gideon, did God not accomplish great things through him? Yet when God invited him he simply declared his lack of competence, even connecting it to ancestral disadvantage for he had said to the Lord But Lord, how can I save Israel? My Clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family. He chooses the weak to shame the strong indeed. God doesnt necessarily look for the eloquent; or the convincing; or the learned; or the impressive; or the forceful; or the theological. Even a person with leadership ability, magnetism, and experience is not necessarily Gods choice. God calls and qualifies those he calls. #JESUSorNOTHING
