FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Bigger than Life Read Job 34:1 through 37:24 The long conversation between Job and his friends was coming to an end. Elihu, the youngest of them, had been listening, getting more frustrated by the minute. Finally he spoke, reminding Job that, while Job may see himself as righteous before God, God certainly is a greater than any of them could fathom. Elihu pointed out that it is impossible for us to completely understand God’s power and supremacy. “God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding” (Job 37:5). None of us realize just how great and powerful God is. Scientists still have not discovered, much less understood, all that He has created, from the vastness of the universe to the intricacy of a DNA chain. The endless variety we see in nature, such as snowflakes, flowers, and people for that matter, demonstrates His greatness. Yet He desires to have a relationship with us. Thought for Today: We serve a God who is bigger than we could ever imagine; yet He loves us and is concerned with the smallest detail of our lives. It doesn’t get any better than that!
