FOOD FOR THOUGHT FRIENDS Daniel 2:17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Welcome to the third week of January, as the week begins, wisdom will be your daily portion. Daniel had just been granted some time by the king so that he might return to tell the king his dream & its interpretation so he immediately got back to his house and got down to business. He called his friends and told them about the matter. As grave as the matter was, he had friends to share it with. Everyone needs someone. A three fold cord is not easily broken. The devil easily strike men who stand alone. Even Jesus had 12 companions and when he wanted to send them out, he paired them in groups of twos so none worked alone. Daniel did not go to every wise man, he didnt gather all the men that were his colleagues for the three years they were students, he didnt gather his tribe’s men to tell them his concerns but particularly he told his own companions. Not every matter is for everyone. It’s good to have friends but it’s very important to have friends who are like you. We all exist in very large world so we should love and relate with every one we come across but friendship is a closer level of relationship meant only for people of same heart, same vision, same goals & objective, same values, same way of thinking, same manner of life and etc. There are so many things friends share in common that keep them comfortable in the same ship. Everyone must daily do a check on those referred to as friends to see if they are still in the same spirit they started with because the best people to either influence you for good or evil is your friend. God or the devil can ride on your friend to possess you. The devil doesnt need to kill himself if he has his agent as your friend. You will walk into his house with your legs joyfully in company of your friend who is his agent. You will wine & dine with the devil daily without suspecting because you trust your friend his agent. You will be caught off guard daily because you are with your friend his agent. If you are not careful, it might be too late before you notice that you have been in the wrong company. Many are dead today because of friends; many are maimed today because of friends. Many have been badly hurt today because of friends, many live their life regretting today because of friends, many have lost in big ways and are crying because of friends but many still don’t understand that everyone should not be your friend. The greatest influence on any life is through a friend. Most often, guards are dropped when friends are together so if the devil gets into that place he has no resistance to his operation. In the selection of your friends, lots of wisdom must be applied. You don’t need everyone rather you only need one or very few persons who carry & express same spirit like you. The bible encourages us to test all spirit and see which one is of God. Not everyone in church is of God, some came to scatter fellowship therefore; be wise as serpent and gentle as dove.
