FOOD FOR THOUGHT: amongst todays events and successfully swept under the rug was Joe Hockeys mid-year economic and fiscal outlook address that indicated that the federal budget is already 10 billion dollars behind projections made in May of this year. that is, in just 7 months, the proposed budget fix is already 10 billion dollars behind. Hockey cited stalls in getting legislation through parliament as the reason for this deficit. however, wouldnt you agree that very poor budget policy development (GP payments etc) as the primary reason for nothing making it through parliament? figures also indicate that the abolition of the mining tax is responsible for 6.6 billion dollars worth of this lag. the rich get richer. it seems the solutions are relatively simple, although we continue to fail to reach any kind of plausible goals. I believe we should be just as worried about the administrators of this country as we have all shown we are of Islam.
