FOOS~FRIENDS: This is why it is very important to get a breast exam every year - Please read this from my good friend Cindy Goldney: Im a 3 year breast cancer survivor. Mine was caught with a mammogram and caught early at stage (1.) Ladies, I know you dont look forward to it and that its uncomfortable, but believe me, it beats *ALL* of the alternatives. Its hard to listen to women who think mammograms are uncomfortable. Id give anything to ONLY need a mammogram these days. Ive been through numerous surgeries and treatments. I know many women who have been diagnosed at stage 3 and 4 and wished they had done regular mammograms and self-checks. Please dont put off your mammogram and be faithful with your self-checks. Both are important. My 2 tumors were in places where the tumors wouldnt have been felt for 3 or 4 more years. Thats why a mammogram is so important. Self-checks are also important because Ive known of many young women in the 20s who have had breast cancer. They are too young to start mammograms. Cancer doesnt care how old you are.
