FOOTBALL COLONIALISM Just take a look at the posts today and youll see why it pains me so much when I see my countrymen croon so much over Arsenal, Man U, Barca, Chelsea, Bayern, Real Madrid and the like and close their eyes, noses and heads to the Sunshines, Pillars and the Eyimbas of this world. I really believe there is more to this than the footballing excellence these teams display. Its more about colonialism all over again. Does anyone think of the advert images accompanying these teams whereever they go? Some of my people actually talk about these teams as if they are shareholders and often get into deadly fights like most football hooligans. Lets value our own even while appreciating what others have got and those things which we would have loved to have but yet do not have.
