Before you even think about looking for a co-founder or another employee, you must first analyze the importance of that particular individual in the organization. Most entrepreneurs hire due to two major reasons, either it is because the work flow has dramatically increased or because of the solid reason that you do not have the required skills due to which hiring becomes inevitable. Always look for the closest option in case of skills because skills can be trained and a sudden hiring would only harm the organization. RULE NO 2. What is your hiring plan? Every startup has its own working style and it is with company to decide about its hiring process. If the fund flow inside the organization is good they can employ eligible candidates as full time employees or as intern otherwise. This entire process can be really developed as per the company requirement. Generally candidates are hired and a series of tasks are given to them with more than enough time to work on it. Candidates are evaluated based on their performance of solving tasks and the one who solves the same quickly, by adding his own thoughts and ideas the candidate has more chances of winning the hearts of the startup founders. RULE NO 3:How do you pay them? Well, the entire process of recruiting and hiring is sickening as it involves a lot of parameters with less available resources. A HR personal must be agile and identify potential candidates to the startup. Once the hiring process is complete the next problem arises – Remuneration. Almost all startup founders have this confusion on how to pay their new hires. There are certain generous souls who hand out large chunks of equities to everybody who help them and this is a serious mistake. Use the option of payment depending on the overall performance of an employee rather than giving a certain part of the ownership. But, there are also certain people who deserve to be paid well and do not pay them with anything else other than equities.
