FOR CHERISHED MEMORIES: REFLECTING ON ‘THE MUNROE AIR TRAGEDY’ IN THE BAHAMAS: THIS LIVE FOOTAGE RECAPTURES A SMALL SLICE OF A SERMON…BEING DELIVERED BY, WORLD RENOWN…THE REVEREND, Dr. MILES MUNROE, TO AN INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE. He recently died tragically...along with his wife Dr. Ruth and 7 other persons...just about two hours after delivering his last sermon in his church Faith Ministries International in the capital city of Nassau. His two pilots and a seven year old child also perished in the air accident as his private jet crashed about 5:00 Pm. into an industrial crane at the dock yard in poor weather when they arrived in the second city of Freeport, Grand-Bahama (island). It was en-route from Nassau and…according to some reports…they were attempting to make a forced landing. Although it has been a week since this air accident occurred, his funeral is not expected to be held until early December. Dr. Munroe was Bahamian, but was obviously aware of his Guyanese roots (some may recall Dr. Allan Munroe...formerly of the Ministry of Education - Guyana and other similar members of the Munroes and Plucks lineage.), as he was known to have made frequent visits to Guyana - (dating back to the 1980s) and was always a guest to the Central Assemblies of God Church, in Church St. Albertown, Georgetown.
