FOR I SAY UNTO YOU, THAT EXCEPT (YOUR) YOUR....YOUR..... RIGHTEOUSNESS SHALL EXCEED THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE SCRIBES AND PHARISEES, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.........I would like to start out by saying that their is none righteous no not one save God....Which is to say that no matter how much good you may have think that you have done in this life....Compared to Gods righteousness and what he has done for us....There would be no comparison......Our righteousness next to his...is but filthy rags....We would not be able to stand in Judgement in our righteousness.....but surly would fall with the Lost......This why by the mercy and Love that God has for those that are his (saints) he imputes the Righteousness of Christ....Therefore in the Judgement we stand not in our righteousness....but in the righteousness of Christ.... Now I will talk about not the righteousness of God.... But the righteousness that God expects from us....I will cover just a little, please search more on your own.........( Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. We give not of our abundance but like the widow who gave her last mite...If we see a brother or sister in need...May it be clothing, food, or what ever the need.....We do not pray and say God give my brother and sister some clothes, some shoes some food.....When he has told us to do so.....God expects a certain amount of righteous works from us........Remember the scripture....( What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.) So if we have a brother that is in need of some shoes.....It is not Gods fault,, or lack to be able to do so...If our brother goes without shoes.....It is our fault.......Our faith is tested.....Our righteousness must exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees....We should never lack mercy...Will stop here for now.....maybe just a bit one the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees.... .... Here is the righteousness that the Pharisees had....Who gave but gave from their abundance making sure they would not be lacking in anything... . For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same....Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
