FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Annual Call for Membership Applications/Renewal 2013/2014 Sano Paila invites applications for membership and renewal for 2013/2014. Sano Paila is pleased to invite individuals with an interest in social work and passion to serve their communities to apply for membership or renew membership for 2013/2014. Application for membership is open to any physical person who fulfills the below mentioned “Eligibility for Membership” and is willing to help in the continuation of the promotion of the vision of Sano Paila. Individuals from vulnerable communities, Tharu, Dalits, Adivasi, Janajati, Madheshi, women, youth, and physically disabled are highly encouraged to apply for membership. Existing members are requested to renew their annual membership. Sano Paila (A Little Step) is a member-based, non-governmental, non-partisan organization working in the socially marginalized and impoverished communities of rural Nepal. Named for the idea that it often just takes "a little step" to serve one’s community and induce change, the organization was founded by a group of self-motivated and dynamic youths in 2006. Sano Paila undertakes its programs based on whole community approach, by enhancing and promoting the voices of youth, and by inspiring the people to engage in tackling problems being ignored by the government and security sectors with home grown solutions. Since establishment, we have addressed broad issues of social change, community empowerment and local resource mobilization through an extensive network of local, national and international development partners, NGOs and government departments. We achieve this through sustainable development practices, rehabilitation and livelihood enhancement, peace building initiatives, health improvement and educational programs. Eligibility for Membership A. Individuals of all genders, including third gender who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. B. Individuals should be a Nepali National and submit a copy of national citizenship certificate or passport. C. Individuals should not have any criminal or civil cases pending or on trial in the court of law within and outside Nepal. D. Individuals should be of sound mind. E. Individuals should complete and duly sign the application form and submit receipt of non-refundable application fee of NPR 551/-. F. Membership cannot be provided in the name of those who have been deceased. How to Apply: A. Application Form Individuals fulfilling the above mentioned criteria should collect and complete the Membership Application Form which is available at the Office of Secretariat / Head Office or on the website or can be made available by email if requested. Please sign-in and submit the completed form along with a copy of National Citizenship Certificate or Passport and 2 pc of PP size photos to the Office of the Secretariat, Sano Paila Lane, Birta-4, Birgunj or email to [email protected] . B. A receipt obtained from the Office of the Finance Committee as evidence of payment of application fee must also be submitted along with the membership application. However, in case of individuals who are financially deprived but have extensive desire to be a member can request for an application fee waiver from the Office of the Executive President. The Executive President, upon terms and conditions for such waivers will waive application and membership fees for individuals who are financially deprived or physically disabled or belong to marginalized communities. C. Applications for membership submitted to the Office of the Secretariat, upon verifying their completeness and information, will be forwarded to the Executive Committee of Sano Paila. The Executive Committee, upon receipt of a certificate of acceptance of the Constitution of Sano Paila and such other documents as it may reasonably require, will approve or deny the application. Admission as a member will only be effective upon the decision by the Executive Committee and all rights are reserved by Sano Paila.
