UPDATE Date Started: 6/30/2013 Cause: Under Investigation Total Personnel: 140 Residences: 0 threatened, 0 destroyed Size: 96 acres Percent Contained: 100% Resources: 0 Helicopters; 6 Engines; 4 Crews; 3 Water Tenders Outbuildings: 0 threatened; 0 destroyed Injuries to Date: 2 Pedlar Fire is 100% Contained Lyon, NV— Firefighters made great progress today on mopping-up and containing the Pedlar Fire. The firefighters achieved 100% containment of the 96 acre fire at 4:00pm. Steep, rocky terrain and 100 degree plus temperatures the firefighters faced today, making it a difficult fire to contain. Fire crews will continue throughout the night mopping-up hot spots and patrolling the fire, ensuring the fire stays within the containment lines. Highway 342 to Virginia City was reopened to at 2:30 pm today. As a reminder, drivers having to travel on the roadways near the fire are asked to use extra caution as crews and apparatus are still actively working. Onlookers are asked to stay out of the area so fire crews can safely conduct operations and operations are not hindered.
