FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE “Award winning show on indie filmmaking FRAMELINES to start airing new episodes” Columbus, OH, March 25th, 2014 – Framelines, the show about Ohio filmmakers begins airing new episodes on the Ohio Channel in mid-April. Featuring segments on individual films, filmmakers, and even tips on how to make movies, Framelines has all new content covering stories from all of the state. The instructional segments were nominated for a regional Emmy last year and won two Telly Awards. The Ohio Channel airs the show several times a week as a sub-station of most PBS channels in the state. The show is hosted by Dino Tripodis from Sunny 95 FM. “Filmmaking really has become the new garage band, just like our tagline“, says Peter John Ross, executive producer. “We’re hoping to put a spotlight on the people who make movies. These are the backyard Kubrick’s and the weekend Spielberg’s and the quality of movies are getting pretty amazing.” The show has featured appearances by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica), Paul Sorvino, and Josh Radnor. Other clips include an interview with Mickey Fisher, creator of the upcoming CBS series EXTANT, executive produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Oscar winner Halle Berry before he The new episodes begin airing on April 14th, 2014 on Mondays 12:30PM and 8:30PM, as well as Tuesdays at 4:30AM, and Saturdays at 10:30AM and 6:30PM, and finally on Sundays at 2:30AM on the Ohio Channel. The Ohio Channel is available in Akron, Athens, Cincinnati, Clermont, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, and Toledo both over the air and on most cable providers. Framelines has been featured on the “Vimeo Video School” on video site Vimeo several times with the instructional segments. Between Vimeo and Youtube, there are tens of thousands of views online. “Given how many people are making movies and putting them online, we felt we could help educate a little on the basics of making movies” says Scott Spears, a producer on the show and professor at the Ohio State University teaching screenwriting. “With all the interest in film competitions and that anyone with an iPhone can shoot and edit a movie makes our show more relevant than ever.” About FRAMELINES – Framelines is produced as a not-for-profit project with grants from the Greater Columbus Arts Council and the Ohio Arts Council, as well as donations from local businesses.
