FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: DOWNTOWN BUSINESS PROMOTES SEASONAL WEDDING CAKE GIVEAWAY FOR DESERVING COUPLES In the spirit of the season, one local business is paying it forward to the community in an effort to honor love and marriage. Miss Angel’s Heavenly Pie’s Bake Shop, located at 153 North Main Street in downtown Mount Airy, will be providing a free wedding cake to four deserving couples throughout the year who couldn’t otherwise afford one. As our economy struggles and divorce rates continue to grow, Angela and Randy Shur are giving couples hope… one wedding cake at a time. Couples hoping to win a “Miss Angel’s Heavenly Wedding Cake” should submit a photo, contact information, and a one page hand-written essay explaining why they deserve a cake on their special day. Entries may be dropped off or mailed to Miss Angel’s Heavenly Pie’s (153 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030). Four winners will be chosen throughout the year, honoring the four seasons. The first cake winner will be announced at the bake shop on Thanksgiving Day. Angela and Randy are passionate advocates of giving back to the community through regular baked good donations to local food banks and charities. Last Thanksgiving, they provided their first complimentary wedding cake to a local couple who had recently lost their jobs. “We just knew they couldn’t get married without a proper wedding cake, so we immediately stepped in to help them celebrate their new life together. Everyone should get the chance to experience that first piece of cake together with friends and family,” said Angela. This experience of helping a loving couple in need ignited the campaign to continue helping couples make their wedding day special. Miss Angel is calling the wedding cake project, “Miss Angel’s Gift of Love.” Cakes will be custom decorated by master cake decorator, Randy Shur. Miss Angels Heavenly Pie’s opened in downtown Mount Airy in 2008. They were one of the four contestants on AMC’s Showville, were featured in Bake Magazine 2013, and were guest speakers at the 2013 ANA Convention. The mainstay of the bakery is the signature fruit pies and turnovers, using the fruit from the Shur’s own orchard. They are excited to expand their culinary craft into the world of wedding cakes in an effort to promote love. For more information email Angela Shur at purdieladies143@aol Friday
