FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Diverse Corporate, Community Groups Sponsor 2nd Annual “Night of Asia” JACKSONVILLE, Fla., August 27, 2013 -- Jacksonville is once again gearing up for this city’s largest Asian Festival: Night of Asia, scheduled for Friday, September 13th from 6 p.m. to midnight at Celebration Church, 10302 Deerwood Park Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32256. The event coincides with the Autumn Moon Festival, celebrated in many parts of Asia. Volunteers from the Asian Society for Innovation & Achievement (ASIA), an employee resource group at VISTAKON® Division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc., have joined forces with almost two dozen diverse corporate and community organizations to work together on the second annual Night of Asia. This year’s theme is “Celebration of Health and Wellness” and attendees will have the opportunity to network with over 1,000 Jacksonville VIPs, Asian corporate employee groups and community leaders. The evening promises fine Asian & international foods from an array of local restaurants; unique Asian and Asian American performances; an amazing Silent Auction including Asian art; and even dancing to the music of a DJ. Attendees are encouraged to dress in festive and even traditional Asian attire. Other corporate employee resource groups organizing this event include those from CSX, Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, Medtronic Inc. and Citigroup. In addition, many non-profit organizations in the community have taken leadership roles, including Asian American Chamber of Commerce - Jacksonville, Asian American Federation of FL (AAFF), Cambodian American Community Services, City of Jacksonville Mayor’s Asian American Advisory Board (MAAAB), Filipino-American Community Council of Northeast Florida (FIL-AM Council of NEFL), Indian Cultural Society of Jacksonville (ICS), INDO-US Chamber of Commerce Northeast Florida, Jacksonville Bangladeshi Community, Jacksonville Chinese Association (JCA), Jacksonville Sister Cities Association (JSCA), Korean Association of North Florida, National Asian American Political Action Committee, Inc. (NAAPACFL), Vietnamese Association of Jacksonville and We Filipinos, Inc.
