FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HAYDEN, Idaho. - The U.S. Army Reserve, 455th Engineer Company located in Hayden, Idaho, will be conducting a deployment ceremony on Tuesday, August 27th at 9:00 a.m. at Central Valley High School, located at 821 S. Sullivan, Spokane Valley, Wash. 99037. This event is open to the general public. The 455th Engineer Company is honored to welcome all attendees to this event. The 455th is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in 2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The Soldiers... of the unit are responsible for route clearance patrols, engineering operations missions, training local counterparts and providing security for U.S., Coalition and Host Nation Forces. The 455th have been training since May 2012 and have recently completed 28 days of training at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, Calif. They will also be traveling to Fort Bliss, Texas for additional training prior to deployment. Attending to lend their support of the event are: Lt. Col. Mike Hittle (Ret), Principal of Central Valley High School, Spokane Valley, Wash. Lt. Col. Gregory Wooten, Battalion Commander, 321st Engineer Battalion, Boise, Idaho Command Sgt. Maj. Jeffrey McDonald, Battalion Command Sergeant Major, 321st Engineer Battalion, Boise, Idaho Pastor Eddie Bateman, Real Life Ministries, Post Falls, Idaho The United States Army Reserve Soldiers are dubbed Twice-the-Citizen as they are “Citizen-Soldiers” managing their military career responsibilities as well as their civilian careers and personal lives. The 455th Engineers will transition now from “Citizen-Soldier” to “Warrior-Citizen” as they arrive boots-on-ground in Afghanistan to participate in Operation Enduring Freedom to bring safety and stability to the people of Afghanistan.
