A large car count is expected led by defending champion Terry Schank Jr. Challenging him will be two-time winner of this race, Rio Linda’s Scott Hall. Chico’s Taylor Nelson and Dustin Thompson are expected to race. Last year a staggering total of 65 different drivers earned points during the championship season. A quick rule update is as follows; Cars requiring assistance at initial start of heat race or dash: go to the back of the pack. Cars requiring assistance at the initial start of a semi main or main event will be penalized eight positions. No penalty for requiring assistance during caution or red flag restart. Pit gate is scheduled to open at 2 pm on Saturday. Front grandstand gate will open at 5 pm. Qualifying is slated for 6:30 pm. Heat races and main events will follow. The series will pay out a $3,000 point fund distributed throughout the top ten in the final point’s standings. There will be a $500 bonus to drivers inside the top three in the final point standings using Joe Hunt Magnetos or their products.
