FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 29, 2014 Inauguration Day Details Ceremony specifics and information regarding live broadcast and online viewing The swearing-in ceremony for Governor-elect Bill Walker and Lt. Governor-elect Byron Mallott will take place Monday, December 1 at 11:30 at Centennial Hall in Juneau. Parking for the event is available at Marine Park and at the cruise ship terminal. A complimentary shuttle will pick up from Marine Park at 11:10 am and from the cruise ship terminal at 11:15. The shuttle will return passengers to downtown shops at 12:45pm. A complimentary bus shuttle to Centennial Hall will also depart the Nugget Mall Parking lot at 10:30 am and again at 10:45 am. Two buses will depart Centennial Hall, returning to the Nugget Mall at 12:45pm. Overflow seating is available across the parking lot from Centennial Hall at the JACC. The ceremony will be displayed on a 12x12 screen in the auditorium which will seat up to 230 people. The Master of Ceremonies for the inauguration will be Craig Fleener with performances by the Thunder Mountain High School Brass Quintet, the Crimson Quartet, the Mt. St. Elias Dancers, and the Filipino Ati Atihan Dancers. Oaths will be administered by Retired Justice Walter L. Carpeneti and Justice Daniel E. Winfree. For those who cannot attend, live streaming will be available at 360north.org, ktuu, ktva, and youralaskalink. KTUU, KTVA, FOX/ABC , and KTOO will also broadcast the event live for television viewers. Grace Jang, spokesperson for the governor-elect stated: This is an important event in Alaskas history. For the first time, Alaska will see a non-partisan governor and lt. governor sworn into office. And for the first time in state history, we will have an Alaska-born governor and lt. governor serving together. Our hope is that as many Alaskans as possible take advantage of the numerous opportunities to view this historic event. Jang added: Our gratitude again goes out to our statewide media and to those on the ground in Juneau for facilitating the wide reach of Mondays inauguration.
