FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 19, 2014 Oshawa Professional Firefighters Endorse Election Candidates Oshawa – Oshawa’s professional fire fighters today announced their endorsement of Oshawa Election candidates. Oshawa Professional Firefighters Association represents 187 full time firefighters, and belong to the 11,000 strong Ontario Professional Firefighters Association, and the 300,000 members of the International Association of Firefighters. “We have a vision of a modern and progressive fire and rescue service for the City of Oshawa, one that is prepared to meet the needs of our rapidly growing community,” says Steve Barkwell, President of the Oshawa Fire Fighters Association. “In order to achieve that, we need the support of our City Council.
