FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Once again Women & Wishes was ecstatic over the generosity of The Jim Moran Foundation. A $10,000 grant was given to Women & Wishes during the second quarter of this year in support of the work that it does to help women transition through life’s challenges. This grant came at the perfect time as Women & Wishes had received a number of wish requests to fulfill. With women expressing how difficult life can be, this grant had an immediate impact on those served by the organization. “We were able to grant some of these wishes right away for essential needs, such as mortgages, utilities, car and child care expenses,” said Marion Applegate, President of Women & Wishes. “Having a wish granted from Women & Wishes has proven to be the one thing that has kept many women in Broward and Palm Beach counties from falling through the cracks. One wish recipient wrote to us and said, ’My mountain was your molehill,’” said Marion. “Stories with happy endings like this are possible because of the generosity of organizations like The Jim Moran Foundation.” Women & Wishes operations are funded through the generous contributions of corporate sponsors and the private sector.
