FOR SALE: ***GREAT COMPETITION PONY*** 12.2HH Dun gelding, he 7years old, Passported and microchipped, just had feet trimmed and back checked, I purchased him for my 8 year old as he had out grown his 11 hand kick along pony that he couldnt continue his education on her, she taught him everything and his confidence and riding ability was excellent, so I decided that he needed a more forward going pony, without a trial period its always difficult to tell if the pony is going to be suitable, unfortunately this pony is very fast and occasionally strong all though still snaffle mouthed, he would be much better suited to a confident child that wants to compete, he would always be in the ribbons as he turns on the spot and is so quick, he is very good at jumping, and won so much in his last home with a 11 year old girl who unfortunately outgrew him, but she was very confident and I think as he is a little nervous himself at times in the school, he needs someone to push him forward and give him confidence, he is a very sensitive pony loves to be reassured by your voice and to change transitions you MUST only give him a small squeeze! Never kick as you may well end up from stand to canter. I cant really say much more as we have only had him just over 6 months, I really dont want to give up on him as he is a perfect little pony in everyway just not suitable for my son at his current riding ability, he would also make a perfect lead rein pony, on the lead rein, he is very gentle, and very safe he loves hacking, nothing at all phases him, lorries, busses, motor bikes, tractors etc.. He has seen everything and hacked in the heaviest of traffic, he is 110% box, shoe, clip, vet , teeth When I first got him he didnt even understand what picking his feet was but fronts he now does with no problem, backs he can occasionally be a bit jumpy/scared and pick it up a bit quick but never kicks out or nasty and you can pick them, just wouldnt like a child to not know this and get scared, this is a really sad sale as in the short period we had him he has became my favourite. please only comment if you are looking for lead rein pony or a 2nd pony for a confident child! Any more info wanted pm me please, I really didnt want to loan him as I run the risk of him being returned and would like to try and find a suitable pony for my son, and wouldnt have the space to have him back, I may be interested in a swap for something more suitable for my son, so if you feel you may have a more suitable pony please feel free to give me information. £500ONO Im losing hundreds, but home really is more important for this fantastic pony. Please no time wasters as Im absolutely heart broken, I would be happy for people to come and ride him as many times as they want before buying him as I really dont want him moved on again if not suitable. I feel he may have had a heavy handed owner in the past that has made him a little timid and head shy at times, if you make a very quick movement by his head he will jump and you can see fear in his eyes, but in the time I have had him, he has come around so much,he really trusts us, I was told his only issue when I brought him was he wasnt easy to catch, but he has always been really pleased to see us and you can catch him first time, he absolutely adores small children and my 2 year old daughter can brush him, and even pick his front feet, Im sure you can guess from my advert, I really dont want him to go, but I also know he loves his work and to jump and it would be unfair for me to keep him as a pet as Im too big to ride him and dont have a more suited ability rider that could part loan/ride him or anything? I have just booked him in with slc Equestrian, she is going to give him half hours lessons hopefully on a weekly basis so he will get fitter and I can have a experts opinion on what ability rider she feels he needs.
