FOR THE LIGHT TO BURN CONTINUALLY: Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure olive oil beaten FOR THE LIGHT, to cause the lamps TO BURN CONTINUALLY. Levi 24:2. A close look at the passage above reveals that a pure olive oil is required for the light to burn continually. Be aware that an impure olive oil can never be a substitute for the pure olive oil because God Himself is a pure God. So the fuel that sustains the continual burning of the lamp is the pure olive oil. The more the fuel, the more the magnitude and intensity of the flame on the lamp. The extent of illumination is a function of the pure olive oil supplied. You get your lamp ignited as a person immediately you are born again, meaning you are now a new creature in Christ. Just as ignited lamp will produce light, so also will your life begin to shine according to the Scriptures. To light a lamp in a dark evironment is good, but I think how to sustain the flame produced is more important. Salvation from sin starts/initiates the light while consistent purity/holiness of life sustains the illumination. The level of your purity determines how much of God you see and know. Bible says ......... And holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. Hebr 12:14. Therefore, PURITY OF LIFE is the fuel required TO CAUSE YOUR SPIRITUAL LAMP TO BURN CONTINUALLY. Make us wise virgins who will sustain their burning lamp till the arrival of the Bridegroom. Amen
