FOR THE RECORD: The VFB is a free, independent community networking and information hub. We are a very small team doing this in our (extremely limited) spare time. We are extremely careful to remain as neutral as we possibly can; we receive no perks or benefits in exchange for the work we do here. There is no agenda to discriminate against anyone here. When shows fit our criteria and we know about them, we post them; when they dont fit or we dont know about them, we dont (or cant) post them. Sometimes we miss shows we would normally find because were too busy or distracted to search and record things properly. Sometimes we dont miss shows but it looks like we did because we copied the wrong thing (we use common internal tracking and draft processes to streamline teamwork, but those things falter occasionally) or because the show was announced after we created our final calendar draft prior to publishing it (there can be a few days lag every now and then). If you identify with a particular subculture or scene and feel like you, the people you care about, and/or the shows you love to attend are being underrepresented or ignored here, please understand that this is *not* intentional. In fact, the VFB team is trying very hard to *erase* those kinds of boundaries. (For example, I post a lot of shows to the calendar that I consider worse than torture; regardless of whether I like the music or not, the point is that *other* people might love that shit, and were about *everyone* here at the VFB.) If you know of shows were missing, or you think we could be more representative and/or accommodating of all the underground (or even more mainstream) niches, please get in touch with me.
