FOR THOSE WHO LIKE APPLE SAUCE: 1. THE EASIEST and quickest way to cook apple sauce is to peel and core Granny Smith (or Bramley, if youre in England) apples. Slice and place on a dish and Microwave (yes Microwave) for about 2 mins with a little water. The apples should come out fluffy and you can then add butter and/or seasoning. 2. THE MORE DIFFICULT, and slower, way to cook apple sauce - Peel, core and quarter the apples. Put in a medium saucepan with 20g butter to 500g apples. Add 1 tbspn lemon juice, 4 tablespoons sugar and a splash of water. Cover the pan and cook over a low heat for about 15 mins - (lift the lid and stir from time to time) adding a little more water, if the pan looks dry. When the apples have broken down into a puree, taste for sweetness and adjust the consistency with a little more hot water as necessary. Serve warm with Roast Loin of Pork.
