FORAGE PRODUCTION & PRESERVATION AND ANIMAL NUTRITION Duration: One Week Dates: August 19-23, 2013 Who Should Attend? Dairy Farm Managers/ Assistant Managers, Farm owners, Agri-services providers, Potential investors, Public, private and NGO sector personnel involved in livestock production and dairy development, extension agents, public and private trainers etc. Objective: To equip the participants with latest knowledge on animal nutrition/feeding for dairy animals and production & preservation of high quality forages. The course aims to enhance participants’ practical knowledge and skills about dairy feeding, a key crucial component of modern dairy farm management. Trainers: The course will be conducted by expat (Dutch) trainer from PTC+ (Netherlands) along with PTC+ certified master trainers from Solve Agri & Dairy Institute. Contents The training course will focus on multiple aspects of animal nutrition and dairy feeding. Some of the major contents are as follows: - Role of integrity in business - Forage production planning & organizing - Roughage requirement - Roughage feeding value - Fodder scarcity & contingency - Outsourcing & indigenous fodder production - Silage making - Water supply management - Nutrition objectives - Rumen fermentation - Ration calculation - Calculation software - Feeding systems - TMR concepts - Bunk management - Metabolic disorders - Mineral & vitamin - Feed additives - Feeding costs Training Investment: PKR 65,000/- This includes training fee, course material, training kit, course certificate (issued by PTC+ of Netherlands and SADI of Pakistan jointly), farm visit/excursions, working meals (lunch and 2 tea breaks daily) and group photo.
