FORECAST DISCUSSION 12:50 AM CDT Sunday, November 24, 2013. HIGH IMPACT WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT NORTH TEXAS TODAY AND MONDAY....... DISCUSSION: The formation of our first band of wintry precipitation is currently ongoing in west texas and the texas panhandle. Light Precipitation is falling high up in the atmosphere right now in areas of North Texas west of DFW and is moistening up the atmosphere and is lowering temperatures. This is What we call a wet bulb and this was discussed below. The Best timing we have is sleet and freezing rain entering the western Coverage Area around 5 A.M. and moving east, hitting the I-35 Corridor around 11 AM or 12 noon likely as sleet. Some Accumulations will occur in the DFW area and in the west zones and up to .20 inch of ice is possible. Evening and Late night: Another Round of wintry precipitation is likely. In the northwest zones, sleet and snow will mix causing icy conditions. In the DFW metro, Sleet possibly mixing with snow at times will occur. Icy conditions are likely on most roadways Monday Morning. In the SW, freezing rain is likely and ice accumulations are likely. For the evening and overnight round of precipitation, we are not going to discuss accumulations as i would like to see the temperatures and how they play out during tomorrow afternoons round of precipitation and then we will discuss accumulations. It Appears that as the low pressure moves over DFW monday night into tuesday morning, a wrap around area of light snow would be possible from the DFW metroplex and northeastward. Have Decided to leave the forecast dry for now and will address this concern later tomorrow or monday. FORECASTER: Christian
