FORECAST ON WHO GETS WINTER WEATHER IN NORTH TEXAS: Some winter - TopicsExpress

FORECAST ON WHO GETS WINTER WEATHER IN NORTH TEXAS: Some winter precipitation will fall in parts of North Texas early tomorrow morning. TONIGHT: A cold front will move thru the area. Temperatures will drop into the upper 20s tonight. Light precipitation will develop for areas south of a line from Athens to Hillsboro to Comanche. It will stay dry in the DFW area. FRIDAY: A few pockets of sleet/snow mix will be possible for areas well south of the DFW Metroplex. Areas around the Comanche to Waco area have the chance of seeing some of this wintry precipitation. Temperatures should be near freezing while this precip is falling. That should limit any impact to the roads to maybe a few slick spots on bridges and overpasses. But overall impact looks to be minor. For DFW, most of the day should be dry and cloudy. It is possible you might see a snowflake falling from the sky, but nothing to amount to anything here. SATURDAY: Mainly a cloudy and cold day with temperatures in the 30s. There will be some light rain that moves up from the south as we move into the evening. SATURDAY NIGHT: Light rain will be with us in throughout North Texas. Temperatures may ease into the 30 to 34 degree range. This would allow for some light freezing rain where temperatures are below freezing. But, even at 30 degrees, we likely wont see many problems. Most of the models are trending to keep the DFW Metroplex above freezing this whole time frame which would mean just a cold rain and no travel impacts. I am inclined to lean my forecast in that direction. SUNDAY: Light rain will be possible during the day with temperatures warming into the upper 30s and low 40s. MONDAY: Mostly cloudy and chilly with temps in the mid 40s. Still some light drizzle will be possible. GO BUCKS! (Im pulling for Ohio State :) ) Ill have the latest coming up on CBS 11 News at 5, 6 and 10pm. See you then.
