*FORECASTING NOTE* Worth mentioning this morning...models continue to indicate a slower arrival of rainfall Sunday. While moisture is increasing from south to north, most of the radar returns remain well south of the area. As the process continues to play out, rain will overspread south Alabama initially, developing northward into central Alabama later. Bottom line: This may very well be a second half Sunday soaker with the first half of the day remaining fairly dry across central Alabama. Southern counties will dodge raindrops even early. As morning gives way to afternoon, rain will continue to overspread the state from south to north. I would not at all be surprised for some of our northern counties to be rain free until the afternoon. Well continue to monitor the progress of this much needed rainfall as Sunday wears on. Rain will be heavy at times, especially across far south Alabama where Flash Flood Watches are in effect.
