FOREVER THANKFUL - RED CROSS HEROES EVENT! Todays sold out event was a celebration of our local heroes. Renee Lancaster was awarded the Red Cross Hero Award for her life saving work to save the near death rotties, fondly referred to as the Tenacious Ten. There were many awards given today, and Renee was honored to be in acknowledged in the company of the men, women, and children that took action and saved lives. The stories were inspiring, but rooted in humanity, and as one of the heroes reflected...if you do the right thing its love. We consider the Tenacious Ten the real heroes for their unwavering spirit to live, but we know this would not have happened if not for the tenacious actions taken by Renee to fight for their lives. We could also not have done it without the support of our vets, Dr. Richard Thornburgh, and Drs Anne and Gene Breznok, who came to our aid for these wonderful dogs. In the end, today was a reminder of how we all have the ability to make a difference; ordinary people can do extraordinary things. Congratulations to our local Heroes!
