FORGET the Special One because Jose Mourinho now reckons he is extra special. The Chelsea manager believes he is a far better boss now than he was during his first spell with the Blues. And he won six trophies, including two Premier League titles, during his reign between 2004 and 2007. Now Mourinho, speaking in Bangkok, insists he can top that and chose the first day of Chelsea’s four-week pre-season tour to the Far East and USA to put down his marker. Asked to compare the Mourinho of today with the Jose of 2004, he answered in a flash: “I’m better now. “Because my job is the kind where experience means a lot, where age, years of work and experience count. “After my period with Chelsea I then went around Europe. “I had two years with Inter Milan and three in Spain. So I have more football culture than before, more experience than before. “So I’m in a better condition now than before because my job is a learning experience. “And I think the white hairs that I have, for me, it’s a good sign too because it also means that I am better than before.” Mourinho is clearly in confident mood with the new season just over a month away. He is also delighted with the three new signings he has added to the Blues squad. First in was 22-year-old strike ace Andre Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen for £17million. The move was already at an advanced stage when Mourinho’s return to the Bridge was announced and he says he was pleased to be able to help clinch the deal. The 50-year-old Portuguese coach explained: “Everyone knows the club was following him for a long time before I joined. “And when I was faced with the situation where Andre was not far from being a Chelsea player, I gave the last push because I like the player very much. I think he offers us a lot. “He’s an attacking player who can play in all the attacking positions and a number of attacking systems. “He has the qualities that modern football demands. “Andre is creative, fast and has a good shot, he can play on both sides and through the centre. “He’s a multi-functional player in attack and I’m very happy that we have signed him.” Read more: thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/5010548/Jose-Mourinho-Im-the-Extra-Special-One.html#ixzz2YvCb8sIV
