FORGETTING THE FORMER THINGS isaiah.43 ;18 Look at the past and what you will see is disobedience to God’s commands, unfaithfulness, passion and all kinds of forbidden pleasures. Remember, the day you make a decision about your life, that is the day your world will change. Thousands will continue to fail in life because they are unwilling to make a change. They fail to make a decision that will benefit their future. They talk failure and failure holds them in bondage. They always think and talk on the level of their old life. In order to fit into the new system of things, you have to change your old approach to life. If we were to solve the problems of today using the approach of yesterday, we would not make any difference. One of the principles that will change your life perpetually is vision of being in a future state as if it were already true or here. Vision to see what is not yet seen, to do what is not yet done, to say what is not yet said, to be in a place that one has not yet been – that is your future. Isaiah 65:16-24. The Lord says, “The troubles of the past are gone and forgotten. I am making a new earth and a new Heaven; the events of the past are completely forgotten. There will be no weeping, no calling for help”. This is the plan of God for your life. He does not consult your past to determine the future you desire. If you are to fit into the promise of hope, you must avoid taking journeys into the past. Change your old approach to life in order to fit into the new system of things. This means where you are coming from does not matter now; it cannot stop God from what He is about to do in your life. God has entered your life and disconnected you from your past and given birth to your future. Stop complaining that everyone in your family is poor, stop complaining about the unkindness of people around you and reflect on life itself. You will see that when you dwell on the past, your present is in danger and your future is tarnished. Unless you conquer your past, you cannot focus on your future. How can you conquer your past? The Bible says that what you say will become a visible reality in the natural world if you steadfastly hold on to your confession of success. To live in the present is to live in the promise of hope. The transforming power in this hope gives us the grace to press forward towards who and where we desire to be, knowing that we are included in God’s master plan for His creation. It is this promise of hope that gives us this opportunity to come to God. If you must fit into the divine arrangement of God, you must conquer your past and to conquer your past is to allow God’s Word to channel your way; never allow circumstance to dictate your direction. Be focused on God. In other words, do not build your future around your past nor around your present circumstances. Do not dwell on your past; focus on your future.
