FORK-TONGUED ENEMY FROM WITHIN PAS delegate says Penang pro-developer, like BN Nigel Aw | 10:57AM Sep 19, 2014 Penang PAS today lamented at its muktamar that the state government led by DAP was adopting BNs pro-developer policies at the expense of the rakyat. Penang delegate Iszuree Ibrahim (left) said those from the village were being slaughtered in the courts by developers. Pakatan Rakyat has failed to create pro-rakyat policies and has instead used BNs pro-developer policies when it comes to issues involving villages and developers. Penang PAS stress the practice of turning a blind eye on the issue of development - especially in Penang involving villages over 30 years old - must stop, he told delegates at the 60th PAS muktamar in Batu Pahat, Johor, today. He went on to list several villages which he said have become victims of eviction by developers, among them Kampung Tanjung Bungah, Kampung Pokok Asam, Kampung Batu Uban and Kampung Tok Subuh. The rakyat are slaughtered in the courts where they are evicted from their homes after developers obtain vacant possession, he said. Dont forget our efforts, partners told Iszuree praised Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for being responsive prior to the 13th general election but said this was no longer the case now as the state ramped up its development efforts. “We ask our partners not to forget our efforts after PAS mobilised for Pakatan in the last general election. “Do not betray the power given to us by being arrogant to partners in Pakatan. “Leaders in the state government should also be open to receiving criticism,” he said. Iszuree urged stronger engagement among Pakatan partners in Penang and proposed a tightening of development conditions to safeguard the interest of common villagers. He proposed those who are evicted should be given new housing worth at least RM75,000 near their old location and developers should provide free transit shelter. He added the affected extended family members should also be offered to purchase affordable housing with a 50 percent discount. s.m5.malaysiakini/news/275083
