FORMER Head of state and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari has been listed among the top 25 war generals by the famous US Army War College Alumni. In an esteemed list just published, General Buhari is listed as number six. Born in 1942 in Daura, Katsina State, Buhari was trained at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Mons Officer Cadet School, Aldershot, England and the US War College which did the ranking and was commissioned as second lieutenant in the Nigerian Army in January 1963 and appointed platoon commander of the Second Infantry Battalion in Abeokuta. Among the other generals on the list include Colin Powell, a former US secretary of state; Dwight Eisenhower, the supreme commander of the Allied Forces in Europe during World War II and one time US president Walter Bedell Smith. Others include General Eisenhower’s chief of staff at allied headquarters James Peake, who was also a former US Secretary of veterans affairs and the 40th surgeon-general of the country. One of the criteria for inclusion on the honours list, according to ranker is the people must have gone to US. Army War College and be of some renown. It is believed that the list has been published by General Buharis supporters in response to criticism from his political opponents that he has not submitted his certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec). Under Inecs guidelines, presidential candidates have to submit all their academic qualifications as part of their applications. However, General Buhari is yet to do so, saying that his certificates are with the Nigerian Army secretary. #Prince #Ahmad #Amoeva
