FORMER KENYAN RALLY CHAMPION LEE ROSE MAKES A COMEBACK INTO RALLYING Former Kenya National Rally Champion Lee Rose now living in South Africa is making a comeback into active rallying with his entry in the first edition of the Classic Rally South Africa which will be held from 26th-30th January 2015. He will drive a Ford Escort RS1600 prepared by Viking Motorsport from the UK. The rally will cover 1700km with 730km of special stages held in the White River, Sabie, Hazyview areas 350 km east of the city of Johannesburg, on the edge of the famous Kruger National Park. Kenyan participation is high with Tim Challen from Nairobi navigating for Geoff Bell in a Ford Escort and Aslam and Arshard Khan who will drive their Porsche 911 rally car. Other top entries are from former South African and African Rally Champion John Gemmell in a Porsche 911 and former Kenyan Geoff Bell. Andrew Siddall from the UK will also participate amongst the 12 entries. This first introduction of Historic Rallying in South Africa event is organised by Kenyan Surinder Thatthi and partners Willie du Plessis and Henriette Jooste and 2015 marks the first edition of what is to become an annual feature in South African and African motorsport.
