FORT MYERS FLORIDA -- PLEASE SHARE! RESCUE FRIENDS: EMERGENCY SITUATION, PERSONAL FRIEND NEEDS HELP NOW! WE MUST PLACE THIS BOY. LOCATED in Ft. Myers, FL CONTACT: Brandy Mondry ROCKY I found Rocky as a puppy on Craigslist, and have had him for about a year. He is a wonderful dog, full of energy, playful, smart, loyal, and affectionate. After having him about six months, my 8 y/o daughter “taunted” him with an empty dog food bag. He bit her on the arm, causing lacerations that did not require sutures. We attributed this to his age, and the circumstances involving food, etc. Since this attack, he has been good, until last week. During a small party at my house, a guest he knows well and has interacted with almost constantly over the past month was heading for the pool in the back yard, she tried to prevent him from following her out. He bit her on the arm, and again on the leg, both wounds requiring stitches. Each attack has been isolated, and he does show remorse after the fact, however I cannot keep him in a house with 2 young children, as he is unpredictable. I likewise do not feel comfortable with the idea of him being in another home with a family unprepared to deal with his unpredictability. I do not want to have him put down, he truly is a fantastic dog. Rocky gets along with other dogs if given a proper introduction, however he does not tolerate cats at all. Given proper behavior modification in a home with no children, he would thrive. He is a Beagle/Pit mix, he loves his toys, will chase a laser or flashlight beam for hours. He demands attention at times and needs an owner who will provide that attention.
