FORTHCOMING POLITICAL PERMUTATION: Baring any unforseen circumstances,we might experience change of Principal Officers most especially in the Lower House of National Assembly soon. With the defection of 5 New PDP Governors to APC and subsequent cross carpeting of all the elected members from the following States;Adamawa,Kano,Kwara,Rivers and Sokoto the rank of APC members in the House of Representatives will swell to 176 remaining 184 elected members. From the remaining 184 elected members Ondo State with Labour Party controls 9 members, Anambra State with 5 elected members, Delta State with 1 member from DPP and 1 elected member of PPN from Ogun State Thus PDP is left with 168 members in the Lower House.Technically APC will be the party with majority in the House. The Speaker will not be affected because he is APC sympathiser, but Deputy Speaker Hon Emeka Ihedioha will lose his seat,Hon Mulikat Akande-Adeola will lose her seat as Majority Leader,Hon Femi Gbajabiamila erstwhile Minority Leader will be elevated to Majority Leader and many other Principal Officers will be affected also likewise the Chairmanship of Juicy Committees in the House. What is not clear is what will happen in the Upper House(Senate) because the Senate President Sen David Mark is a wily politician and knows how to survive in every political chess game. All in all the ensuing realities is a good omen for our nascent democracy. The devolution of power can be addressed to the letter whereby the Opposition Platform APC will control the Legislative arm of government and the Executive arm remains under the reign of President Goodluck Jonathan of PDP until the cookies crumbles in 2015 general election.
