FORTIN HUMANITARIAN AWARD Nominations due Friday, September 5 The Philip N. Fortin Humanitarian Award is bestowed by the Billings Family YMCA in recognition of a lifetime of distinguished volunteer, civic, and professional achievement which has improved the quality of life within the community. “We would like the community to help us recognize people who have impacted the lives of citizens in Billings, whether through leadership, philanthropy or community involvement,” said YMCA CEO Tina Postel. The Philip N. Fortin Humanitarian Award was originally established with the support of Mary Alice Fortin in 1981. The YMCA has honored community members for 33 years. Past recipients include many of the founding leaders of philanthropy and community spirit. Recipients of the 2013 Fortin Award were Dr. Hewes & Susan Agnew. An Award Selection Committee made up of past award winners will help select the 2014 recipient based on the nominations submitted by the public. The Philip N. Fortin Humanitarian Award winner will be honored at the YMCA Heritage Club banquet on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Yellowstone Country Club. Nominators are asked to include at least one letter of support from another party. Nominations are due by 5pm, September 5, 2014.
