FOSTER HOMES SAVE LIVES! All, when we get contacted about dogs and cats needing help, from individuals or shelters (kill shelters especially), a rescue can only do so much. Without foster homes we are dead in the water. When you ask why didnt rescue pull that; Old, Baby, injured, cute - dog or cat, go look in your mirror and ask yourself Could I have done more? Yes sometimes foster dogs or cats do stay in the system for a long time, when that happens there is a reason. What looks on the outside like a great application isnt always what it appears and isnt what that particular animal needs. Our foster homes are full and we get probably 8-15 requests a day for help. We network as much as we can with other groups, we beg and plead for foster homes, and sometimes we stretch our own homes to try to take a particular one that is breaking our heart. We provide the vetting for the foster dogs/cats, we can provide kennels, food, heartworm meds & flea and tick (although most of our foster homes do provide that themselves as a tax write off).
