FOUND 13th OCTOBER - LAPTA. On our recent holiday in north Cyprus, we saw this little fella in the middle of the road outside the Blue Song restaurant, Lapta, dodging traffic. I ran into the road and picked him up, he was exhausted and very droopy, so cuddling him up we walked around the local shops trying to find who owned him - but drew a blank. We then went to the nearby open bar, and sat with him on my lap giving him water whenever he woke up. Aylin Aydemir was in the bar that night, and put his details on here, and also tried ringing someone to give him shelter for the night, but unfortunately couldnt find anyone. Yislav, the bar owner got him some milk, Aylin went and bought a box of dog biscuits for us, ( thanks to both of you ) and after crushing some up and mixing with milk, he rallied round quite nicely, and wasnt so listless.... Interestingly, he wouldnt soil where he sat, but wandered over to the sandy bit by the side of the bar to pee, which made us think hes had some house training at some point, and probably belongs to someone! With nowhere to take him, I decided to smuggle him into our hotel for the night. Popped him into my beach bag, and quickly snuck passed the reception!. He settled really easily - again suggesting he was used to being indoors at some time. The next morning, I rang the number Aylin gave me, but couldnt get any answer... then found another site online - KAR . So after an amusing tag-type breakfast routine, which gleaned curious looks from the waiting staff, with each of us going down separately and sneaking him bits of meat etc., back to the room, which now had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door to dissuade housekeeping from doing the room... we snuck him back out and took him over to KAR. In the car he made squeaks (to be let out? - again suggesting he is house trained) - and we stopped for a short wander around, where he happily did his business and posed nicely for these lovely photos. He was placed with KAR, who are also inundated with animals, but PLEASE - if you know of anyone who has lost their Kangal puppy in the week around 13th October, tell them to ring Kyrenia Animal Rescue. Have to say as we left the centre, both of us had lumps in pour throats and tears in our eyes.... such a gorgeous pup, and if lost, the owners must be really desperate to find him...
