FOUR NOTORIOUS ALLIES OF DREADED ROWDY APPALA RAJA ARRESTED Four associates of the notorious rowdy Appala Raja were arrested by sleuths of Organized Crime Wing, Central Crime Branch (CCB) when they were hatching a plot to eliminate their rival, rowdy Vairam @ Vairamuthu. Police have seized explosive materials used for making country bombs alongwith machetes. Two-wheelers and a Skoda car were also seized. The accused arrested at Kamatchiamman Nagar in Iyyappan Thangal, were identified as 1.Praveen Kumar (28) of Jai Hind puram in Madurai, 2.Anthony @ Minnal Anthony (37) of Manapaadu, 3.Sankar (27) of Melapon nagaram in Madurai and 4.Kaliraj (24) of Pudhugramam in Kovilpatti.Among the arrested persons, Praveen kumar is skilled in making country-made bombs. He is an accused in 4 murder cases and 2 robbery cases. Praveen Kumar was detained thrice under Goondas Act. Anthony @ Minnal Anthony, a close associate of deceased Karate Selvin, and Rowdy Sankar is involved in many murder, attempt to murder and robbery cases. The arrested accused were remanded to judicial custody in Puzhal central prison. The City Police Commissioner has lauded the efforts of Organized Crime Wing, CCB who prevented a murder by their preemptive operation.
